Just a reminder that there will be a General PTA Meeting at 5:30p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 prior to the Open House at 6:00p.m.

There will be two Open House sessions to accommodate families with more than one child at school. The first will be from 6:00 - 6:40 and the second will run from 6:45 - 7:15.

This year, parents will have a new payment option that will, hopefully, make forgetting to pay for their child’s lunches throughout the school year a thing of the past.

Starting July 7, parents will have the option of signing up with a new service called MyLunchMoney. The service is easy to use and allows parents to deposit funds into their child’s lunch account anytime they want from their home computer, phone or fax.

Exterior masonry and roofing work are nearing completion. Plumbing, fire protection, mechanical, and electrical rough in work have been completed in all three wings.

Interior drywall installation, painting, and lay-in ceilings are nearing completion. The installation of windows, doors, flooring, carpeting, and mechanical equipment are in process. Site grading, landscaping, paving, and the installation of sidewalks are also continuing.

Realignment of Leesville Road adjacent the school property is currently in process.

The Sycamore Creek Elementary School PTA is in the process of partnering with several organizations to help raise funds for our school. Please see the details below on how you can already make a difference in raising money for Sycamore Creek.

Marbles Kids Museum will be hosting a free event on Sunday, August 17 from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. for all new kindergarten students. Click here for a PDF flyer from Marbles with more information.

On Tuesday, May 27, rising kindergarteners and their families attended a hot dog dinner and orientation session for the 2008-2009 school year. While the children were off with teachers creating crocodile hats and picture frames, the adults learned some valuable information about what to expect during their children's first year of school.

On Tuesday, May 20 we held a parent information meeting for Sycamore Creek as well as the first general PTA meeting. Here is a brief summary of what was discussed at that meeting.
