2009-2010 PTA Goals

Create bridges between home and school by:

• Fun-filled family events
• Outreach programs
• Effective and constant communication
• Recognition programs and Volunteer coordination

Recognition of students, staff, and volunteers by:

• Sponsoring recognition programs for students
• Providing appreciation events for staff
• Providing an appreciation event for volunteers
• Supporting the First in Fitness, musical performances, art shows, Character Education, and the Positive Behavior Support system at school

Offset costs of equipment and materials by:

• Providing teacher and specialists grants
• Purchasing agendas for every student
• Purchasing playground additions to include new equipment
• Assisting administration with other special requests that benefit students

Create student enrichment by:

• Sponsoring activities that encourage reading and technology education
• Sponsoring activities that encourage science exploration
• Sponsoring cultural arts programs, artist-in-residence and writer-in-residence programs
• Sponsoring events to encourage healthy lifestyles and the arts

Support community involvement by:

• Collecting items to help others in need throughout the year
• Promoting local and global outreach projects
• Sponsoring activities to encourage students to volunteer and raise their awareness of others while building character
• Supporting enviromental awareness to keep our earth clean and work towards being a "green" school through clean-up programs, recycling, saving paper, etc.
